Thank you for visiting my site!

I received my musical training in the great tradition of the Russian violin school, with its trademark emphasis on solid technique and deep musical expression. I completed  my training in the United States under the guidance of prominent players and teachers.

I have been a professional musician for most of my life,  playing in symphony orchestras and ensembles, including The Florida Orchestra, The Naples Philharmonic, and the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra, sharing the stage with artists as diverse as Itzhak Perlman and Bobby McFerrin, Josh Groban and Herbie Hancock.

I reside in Seattle, where I frequently perform with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Opera Orchestra, Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, Fifth Avenue Theater Orchestra, and Teatro ZinZanni Band.

In addition to classical, I enjoy playing many other different kinds of music – jazz, tango, klezmer, and more, on acoustic or electric violin, and on piano or keyboard.

I've been a violin and viola teacher for as long as I've been playing professionally.

I give students a solid technical foundation essential for success, while not forgetting to focus on the joy of playing music, which is the reason for taking music lessons in the first place.

My teaching method is a combination of the best elements of Suzuki, Russian and American schools of violin playing. It provides me with versatility and flexibility to guide the student on the path he or she wishes to take.

All of my lessons are:

- Custom tailored to each student’s needs, goals and abilities, to ensure the quickest progress. I offer 30, 45, or 60 minutes lessons.

- Aimed at developing strong technique, musicality, performance skills, as well as giving a general understanding of music theory and history.

- Conducted in a relaxed, supportive and positive environment, maintaining the right balance between rigorous practicing and pure fun, enjoyment and excitement of music.

My students also enhance their studies with:

- Regular performances

- Playing in ensembles with fellow students

- Jazz improvisation basics

- Basic piano skills
